She was one minute old when the hospital wanted to do an unnecessary surgery
you stood and watched.

She was four hiding in a closet because the bad man was hurting mommy again
you knew but never cared.

She was twelve trying to find a small place to be accepted and loved
you kicked her out.

She was sixteen scared being abused and controlled
you looked at her and walked away.

She was nineteen positive carefree and in love
you called her names and spread lies.

She was twenty depressed, struggling to rebuild
you laughed and knocked her confidence

She’s twenty-five happy, secure, carefree
you take credit.
